The goal is to survive: You are simply trying to survive + start a "good" life for yourself.
You should aim for having a "high paying job" (a level 7,8,9,10), children (at least 2) and a "big house" (at least: 1 kitchen, 3 bedrooms, and 2 bathrooms). The main thing you are doing is getting money the old way by fishing, gardening and collecting... oh, and of course, searching the neighborhood for free food. Getting married is optional for this challenge.

STARTING OUT:
(UPDATE 11/2/14): Here's the new way, the old way didn't work correctly ---> You'll have to enter this cheatwhich IS ALLOWED (everything written in purple) 1st hold down the Shift Ctrl + C buttons to open up the cheat box at the top left corner of your game screen, then type:
testingcheats true
Next, enter the following cheat into the box:
sims.add_buff buff_Death_ElderExhaustion_Warning
{ Tip: Suggested by Audrey who commented below: Also, make sure you have your parent selected... You don't want to kill your teen! :o }
PLEASE NOTE: You MUST SPELL IT EXACTLY AS-IS... for example, there IS a space between "_buff" and "buff_", and there is NO space between anything else, even "_ElderExhaustion_"
IMPORTANT: That'll make the parent die almost immediately, however this also cause any Sims in the family to become sad. DO NOT count this sad when tallying up your points at the end of the challenge. (UPDATE 4/10/15 -- suggested by Audrey who commented below) :
Tip: To get rid of the sad moodlet, after above code is done... use:
sims.remove_all_buffs
Next, enter the following cheat into the box: money 0
[ For Specialist + Legendary Difficulty Levels [seen toward the bottom of this page] You'll need to make your "main" Sim's baby-sister/baby-brother. They shouldn't look glamorous... they should look like a runaway. They also shouldn't look like your "main" Sim (unless they're Twins of course)]
Going To School: As for the child going to school, teens don't HAVE TO go to school, and it appears (in all the times I've played this challenge) that the same applies to children, even after the parent is no longer present.
The Social Worker: In Sims 4, it seems that missing school doesn't make the Social Worker show up, or take children away. However babies do seem to need to be taken care of.
Good Luck! Have fun, but stay focused.

DIFFICULTY LEVELS:
( Remember to try your hardest to keep the number of "Uncomfortable" emotions as low as possible since points are subtracted, per each time, as part of the "Regular Points" (seen toward the bottom of this page).]
Novice: You CAN use a grill on "Novice" mode only. Reach a medium paying job (a level 5,6,7 in a career), instead of a high paying one (a level 7,8,9+10 in a career) + Survive the challenge until your Sim(s) die(s).
Normal : Follow the Rules + directions in the above sections.
Specialist: You have to bring your baby-sister/baby-brother along + both have to survive the challenge until your Sim(s) die(s).
Legendary: You have to also bring along your baby-sister/baby-brother, + both have to survive the challenge until your main Sim dies. You have to also manage to keep your 2 Sims "happy" (which means NO MORE THAN 30 of any negative emotions in either of your Sims whole lifetime- for example: 31 "Uncomfortable" emotions means you fail the challenge on Legendary - but may still have competed the challenge for "Specialist","Normal", or "Novice". Again, remember to try your hardest to keep the number of "Uncomfortable" emotions as low as possible since points are subtracted, per each time, as part of the regular rules.)
(((( UP - for - GRABS! )))) ~~>>> Advanced Play-Test Credit: Specialist, + Legendary are currently unplay-tested ...
However, I've also decided to give advanced play-test credit to the 1st person who can show me a link to a Let's-Play, a Story, or pictures of Important achievements, showing them completing eitherSpecialist, or Legendary on this challenge.

STARTING OUT:
- Make your "main" Sim. (They shouldn't look glamorous... they should look like a runaway.)
- Make the Sim's guardian/parent however you want, it doesn't matter, so don't put too much work at all into it, since they'll have to be killed off as soon as the game begins. (The reason they need to be created at all, is that the game won't let you make a teen-only household- (UPDATE 11/2/14: this also makes it so youCAN'T simply edit them out as I stated previously before this update.)
- You MUST kill the Sim's guardian/ parent as soon as the game starts SO HERE'S HOW --->>
