What is CC/ Mods?
CC is an acronym for Custom Content, and CC or Mods (modifications) refer to 3rd party creations that can be used in your game. This can range from custom skin tones, hair and clothing, to alterations to actual game play. For example, the ‘no censor’ mod, removes the pixels when your Sim has a shower or goes to the bathroom.

Example of how to install CC/ Mods
Custom content comes in .package form, but sometimes it’ll all be grouped together into one .zip or .rar file. I recommend WinRar to unzip the files. It’s free, and will only bug you with a message once the trial is up, but you can still use it. It’s the top two links on the page (32 bit or 64 bit dependant on your system). Right click My Computer/ This Computer and hit Properties to find out what Operating System you have.
If you have a Mac, you'll need Keka to unzip your files!
Download a .package file. Let’s start with the ‘no censor’ mod, by moxiemason. Follow this link, (you’ll need to register for a free account with Mod the Sims to download items).
Click Files on the above mod, and download the .rar file. Click again once it’s downloaded, and it will open in WinRar. Now click Extract To… and choose Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods and press OK. That’s all there is to it!
If you download a single . package (i.e. it’s not in a zipped folder), download it directly, or move it to your Mods folder.
The process for downloaded Lots and Sims is the same, but the files go in Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Tray.
Note: Some Mods only require part of the download to be unzipped, but it will state this in the description, and is usually for older mods.
How to delete CC/ Mods
Navigate to Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4 > Mods and delete the .package file.
